Mom DailyA chiropractor for the baby? Oh yeah. Editor's note: Omaha mom Jessica Hudson wrote today's Mom Daily. I recently found myself at the chiropractor since lifting and bending are just a regular part of my job as a daycare provider and mom of two. During my consultation, my doctor asked if I was having any trouble sleeping and I replied, "Well yeah! But not because of my back, just my 1-year old!" I explained that he had been teething and dealing with a double ear infection in the past month and had gone from being happy most of the time to fussy and having sleep problems. The doctor offered to look at my son for free and see if he could do anything to help. Sure, why not, I thought? It would be free and I like FREE! (But honestly, I was thinking to myself, "Sure, Dr. Crazy, crack some of my son's bones, and I am sure all my problems will go away.") But it worked! My son's mood and sleep habits changed right away. He was back to his happy self, and I was a happier mom for it. On top of it all, his motor skills skyrocketed! He went from mostly arm crawling and pulling himself up to his knees to crawling on all fours, pulling himself up, cruising and climbing stairs in just a week! Maybe it was coincidence. Maybe it was all in my head. But I am a believer and plan on regularly taking my kids now. Apparently, chiropractors can help with things like bed-wetting, too. Wow. Really? Do any of you take your kids to a chiropractor? Jessica Hudson is married with two boys. She is an in-home daycare provider in southwest Omaha. » more
