Meet the Dad Team

Henry Cordes

Henry Cordes
Age: 46
Family: Wife, Susan Stiles and twin 10-year-old daughters, Thelma and Lucy.
Job: World-Herald general assignment reporter.
Interests: History, running, hockey.
Henry is enjoying the fascinating process of two little girls turning into confident young women and wondering how long it will take for them to be completely embarrassed by any association with their dad. They're well on their way to that, he thinks. And any mention of his family would have to include their pup Hoover, the latest addition in April. Twin girls were a breeze compared to him.
Bob Glissmann

Bob Glissmann
Age: 48
Family: Wife, Sandra, and five children, ages 8, 14, 17, 21 and 24.
Job: World-Herald reporter.
Interests: Running and church activities.
Bob often forgets the names of his children and resorts to pointing and saying "You." In a way, it's good the family dog died, as the kids never appreciated him getting them confused with the Labrador.
John Keenan

John Keenan
Age: 44
Family: Wife, Melinda, and children Rosemary, 11, Joe, 10, and Tom, 3.
Job: Live events reporter for Omaha.com.
Interests: Reading, running, coaching youth basketball.
John came from New York 15 years ago, and although he still misses the ocean and roots for the Yankees, he's happy to be a Nebraskan. With one son almost out of diapers, another beginning to question Dad's omniscience and a daughter about to enter her teen years, John is frequently in over his head, but his goals remain clear -- raise good children who are prepared to succeed in life. And don't let them drive you crazy along the way.
Tom Shaw

Tom Shaw
Age: 32
Family: Wife, Vonnda, and a 3-year-old son.
Job: World-Herald taxpayer watchdog reporter.
Interests: Playing guitar, photography and watching reality shows on cable (especially Bravo and A&E).
Tom enjoys being a dad and teaching his son about the world around him. Being a parent also has taught him a lot of things, including how to balance a T-Rex on top of a Matchbox car, how to make vegetables sound exciting and what make the best potty-training rewards. No parent has all the answers, but hopefully he can share some experiences that you'll find fun and informative.
Al Watts

Al Watts
Age: 37
Family: Wife, Shirley and four children, ages 7, 5, 2 and 1.
Job: Stay-at-home dad for the past seven years.
Interests: Sports, reading, attending plays, drinking well-crafted beer, listening to jazz and watching the "Colbert Report" on Comedy Central.
Al is the vice president of Daddyshome, Inc., The National At-Home Dad Network. He also is a member of the local at-home dad group, LinOma Dads, involved with the Parent Teacher Organization at his children's school and a veteran member of the Missouri Irish Brigade of Civil War Re-enactors. Before he started staying home with the kids, he was a classified advertising sales representative for the World-Herald.
