• In recognition of Heart Month and National Wear Red Day on Friday, the Papillion Junior Women’s Club is wearing red to their monthly meeting tonight.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Midlands Hospital, 11111 S. 84th St. The guest speaker, Renee Kiernan, is from the Nebraska Parent of Responder Partnership.

Interested ladies in the community can contact President Jackie Mach at 402-331-0468 or just attend the meeting.

• They want your blood. The American Red Cross is holing a blood drive at Bellevue Public Library, 1003 Lincoln Road, today from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

• Young aspiring writers are getting the chance to broaden their writing horizons at the Springfield Memorial Library, 665 Main St.

Starting today, five writing sessions will be held every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. for students in third through sixth grade.

The program will offer sessions on prewriting, writing, revising, editing and publishing.
