Let the Puppy Bowl begin

Super Bowl Sunday doesn't have to be focused on the football game

Dog lovers are tuning into to another bowl championship that just might be just as challenging as the National Football League's game.

That's right. We're talking about the Animal Planet's “Puppy Bowl VIII” where puppies compete for BISSELL's Most Valuable Puppy Award. The doggie bowl (pun intended) will feature rescue dogs of all breeds from around the country scurrying to carry their squeaker toy across the endzone.

Several major news outlets have already dedicated coverage to Puppy Bowl.

A few of those interesting reads are below:

Entertainment Weekly wrote "10 things you want to know about Puppy Bowl.' Read it here.

Patch.com wants to know if you're going to be watching the Puppy Bowl this afternoon. http://redondobeach.patch.com/articles/who-cares-about-super-bowl-with-puppy-bowl-viii

A "Wall Street Journal" reporter sits down with Dan Schachner, the official Puppy Bowl referee. He explains the rules to the 8th annual Puppy Bowl in this video.
