Tater tots

Today Cafe

TODAY CAFÉ, 6109 Maple St.

The latest incarnation of the former Benson Bakery has an urban, arty feel. The food vacillates between the owner’s hopes for a fresh, daily-changing menu and its mostly fried core of bar-style food.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays.

Information: 933-0963.

Prices: $10 to $14 per person.

Mom scoop: Though the owner will make small portions to order, there's no children's menu and little room to roam. We saw no kids on four visits.
