Sarah Tucker: Looking back feels so adult

Is this your fresh start?

We are quickly approaching the New Year – 2010. I do love this time of year and always find myself reflecting, planning and setting some resolutions for the New Year. Contemplating the year that has past always feels rather healthy and “adult-ish” of me.

This year seems even more monumental for me. 2010 is the beginning of a new decade AND will be my final year in my 20’s. Older mamas please don’t gasp in horror here. It’s a milestone, right?

Looking back at my 20’s I have many proud accomplishments: two degrees, three gorgeous babies, plus two inherited children, finding the love of my life, etc. And, as we all do -- a big ol’ pile of regrets as well: a failed marriage, some lost friends, buying a house not worth the money, etc.

Does the New Year mean a fresh start? I feel renewed hope each New Year as I realize it is the perfect time to make positive changes toward a new way of life. Here’s a peek at my resolutions for 2010 – a few things I’d like to accomplish before turning 30!

*Learn to sew
*Become more patient
*Stop the cycle of procrastination
*Stop smoking

Do you set resolutions for the New Year? How often do you actually follow through with said resolutions?

Feeling brave? Share some of your resolutions here in the comments.

And be sure to read Cat Koehler's blog Monday. She's letting you choose her New Year's resolution.

Sarah Tucker is married with five children. She works from home.
